Novotel Singapore on Stevens and Mercure Singapore on Stevens - a lush urban paradise

Posted on 2021-04-30

Minutes from Singapore's first UNESCO Heritage Site lies a creative architecture that was awarded Gold in the 2018 Melbourne Design Awards; a lush urban paradise, a building built in the shape of 人, the Chinese character to mean person or human - honouring the people who built, work, visit and stay at the Novotel Singapore on Stevens and Mercure Singapore on Stevens. The property sits on a sprawling piece of prime real estate located a short drive away from some of Singapore's prime residential addresses and the iconic Orchard Road and despite the premium on space, has dedicated significant of land to create a lush gardenscape to provide a green respite for guests and the surrounding residences.

Did you know that Novotel Singapore on Stevens and Mercure Singapore on Stevens sit within 1 of Singapore's 2 Tree Conservation Areas?
Yup that's right! The property is within the Central Tree Conservation Area, estimated at 4,700 hectares.

The 人 form carves the triangular site into three distinctive public places: a grand drop-off space to the south that sets the hotel and allows for an inspirational arrival sequence; a more secluded hotel pool and courtyard space to the east; and a functional sports zone to the west. And for business events, meeting facilities are purposefully housed in a single zone to offer convenience and flexibility, with a touch of the stars.

Polaris in Theatre and Classroom set-up respectively.

Aquila (L) and Hercules (R)

Polaris anchors the space as the main ballroom, together with Aquila, Hercules, Cygnus, Draco, Lyra and Orion offering function spaces for 4 to 120 people (social distancing capacities) and a pre-function corridor aptly named Milky Way to bring everyone together. Want to be under the real night sky? La Terrasse is all 300 sq metres of space to spend a beautiful evening at. Prefer something more sheltered but still enjoy a tropical breeze? Le Balcon could be the solution.
